You Can’t be happy till you know this TRUTH

You Can’t be happy till you know this TRUTH

For many people, happiness feels like something distant.

Something to chase. Something to achieve.

But what if happiness isn’t something you find?

What if it’s something you protect?

When my family and I are healthy, physically and mentally: life feels stable. Lighter. Safer.

Not perfect.

But grounded.

In contrast, when health is compromised, everything else becomes harder. Dreams feel heavier. Goals feel distant. Even joy feels fragile.

We often hear that:

“Once you achieve this goal, you’ll be happy.”

But the truth is: You will never feel happy if you only rely on materials or even tangible things whether money, cars, houses, jewellery,..

If your mental health is neglected, happiness becomes difficult to sustain, no matter what you achieve.

That’s why prioritizing my health is not just helping me prevent illness.

It is helping me to protect my ability to feel joy.

Happiness Is Built Into the Ordinary

Happiness doesn’t always come from big moments.

It often lives quietly in what we already have.

Happiness exists:

  • When your loved ones are healthy
  • When your mind feels calm enough to enjoy simple moments
  • When you have the freedom to explore your interests
  • When you can spend time alone and feel at peace with yourself
  • When you can observe the world with curiosity, not exhaustion
  • When you can hear, understand, move, and breathe without pain
  • When your heart continues to beat: without you even noticing it

These are not small things.

They are the foundation of happiness.

Taking care of your Mental Health Is Prevention

Mental health is often discussed only after burnout, anxiety, or illness appears.

But caring for your mental health before things fall apart is one of the strongest forms of prevention.

Prevention means:

  • Protecting your nervous system
  • Creating space for rest and reflection
  • Building emotional awareness
  • Practicing habits that regulate stress
  • Choosing self-care before crisis forces it

When mental health is supported, happiness becomes more accessible: not as constant excitement, but as inner stability.

Gratitude: A Preventive Practice

One of the simplest tools I’ve learned over time is gratitude.

Gratitude is not denial of struggle.

It’s awareness of what still works.

Each morning, reminding yourself:

  • I can walk.
  • I can breathe.
  • I can think.
  • I can feel.
  • I am here.

Many people don’t have what you have: your health, your abilities, your knowledge, your opportunities.

Gratitude gently shifts the mind from survival mode to presence.

And presence is where happiness lives.

Take Care of Yourself: Before You’re Forced To

Without health, very little else holds meaning.

That’s why taking care of yourself is not selfish.

It’s not optional.

It’s not something to postpone.

It is an act of prevention.

And an act of self-respect.

Protect your mental health.

Nurture your body.

Value your well-being.

Because happiness is not a destination.

It’s the result of a life cared for.

Prioritize your health.

All the love!
