Why I Quit Looking for a Job: PHP Story
The Question That Changed Everything
Exactly one year ago, I sat with a stack of strategy papers and a heart full of "What ifs."
What if I fail? How will I survive without a "normal" job? What if nobody understands what a Public Health expert actually does?
The easiest path would have been to apply for a standard role at a hospital or a NGO. But every time I looked at the job market, I felt a disconnect. I didn't want to work for a system that was built on reacting to sickness. I wanted to build a system that engineered health.
I didn't start ThePublicHealthPro (PHP) because I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I started it because the agency I was looking for didn't exist.
My "Why" Started at Fifteen
Long before I had a degree in Public Health, I was my own first patient.
As a teenager, I lived in a body that felt like a stranger. I was struggling with hormonal imbalances, persistent acne, and weight fluctuations that shattered my self-esteem. My “self-efficacy”-the belief that I could actually change my life- was at an all-time low. I was too exhausted to study, too insecure to be present with my family, and too tired to enjoy time with my friends.
I realized then what many of us realize now: The traditional approach is fragmented.
I saw doctors for my skin, but they didn't ask about my sleep. I looked for nutrition advice, but nobody mentioned the toxins in my skincare products or the air quality in my home or the plastic that I am using. I moved my body, but my nervous system was still stuck in "fight or flight" mode.
I had to become my own "Health Architect." By focusing on the 5 pillars -Nutrition, Sleep, Movement, Enviornemnt, and Mental Resilience- I didn't just fix my hormones; I reclaimed my life.
Filling the Gap: What the Health Industry is Missing
Most health services today focus on two or three pieces of a 1,000-piece puzzle. They give you a diet or a workout plan, but they ignore the Environment, Education, and Behavior.
At PHP, we look at the whole picture:
The Environment: The toxins you touch, the air you breathe, and the light you expose your eyes to.
The Biology: Your gut health and nervous system regulation.
The Behavior: How to actually stick to a habit when life gets chaotic.
This is the role of a Public Health & Behavioral Specialist. We aren't just "coaches"; we are strategists who design lives that make disease optional.
The Reality of Building from Scratch
To my fellow entrepreneurs and dreamers: The cycle of success is not a straight line. Building something that doesn't exist in the market is a test of patience.
My first year was a cycle of: Fail → Learn → Try Again → Small Win → Fail → Massive Win.
It takes a "Risk-Taker" mindset to tell the world that the "old way" of doing health is broken. It takes discipline to stay consistent when you are the only one who sees the vision. But seeing our mission reach 50 million people this year has proven one thing: The world is ready for this revolution.
